What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a professional skin-improving treatment also known as collagen induction therapy.
During the treatment, we create controlled micro-channels in the skin using fine needles. This may sound intense, but the goal is very precise: we give the skin a controlled stimulus that activates its natural healing process.

Who is microneedling not suitable for?
Microneedling is a professional skin-improving treatment, but it is not suitable for everyone or at all times.
We do not treat or postpone treatment for:
- active inflamed acne in the treatment area
- active skin infections
- cold sores or active herpes
- open wounds
- eczema or psoriasis flare-ups
- recently sunburnt skin
- severely damaged skin barrier
- use of certain medications that affect wound healing
- recent intensive peels, laser, or injectables without sufficient waiting time
- pregnancy or breastfeeding, depending on the protocol and products used
- tendency to keloid formation
- certain medical conditions or impaired wound healing

Does microneedling hurt?
Microneedling can be a little sensitive, but is usually well tolerated. The sensation depends on your skin, the treatment area and the intensity with which we work.
What will my skin look like after the treatment?
Your skin may be red, warm and sensitive, similar to a mild to moderate sunburn. In the days that follow, your skin may feel drier or flake slightly.
How much recovery time do I need?
Most clients have visible redness or sensitivity for 1 to 3 days. With more intensive work or sensitive skin, this can take a little longer.
When will I see results?
Often you will see more glow and freshness after a few days. Improvement in skin texture, fine lines and scars happens gradually, as collagen building takes time.
How many sessions do I need?
That depends on your skin goal. For a general glow, one treatment can be beautiful. For skin texture, scars, pores, fine lines or anti-aging, we usually recommend a course of 3 sessions.

Can I wear make-up after microneedling?
Preferably not immediately. We advise you to leave your skin as much as possible at rest after microneedling and only use the recommended care. Mineral make-up may be possible after consultation, but preferably only when the skin has calmed down sufficiently.
Can I exercise after microneedling?
We advise avoiding intensive exercise, sauna, heat and sweating for the first 24 to 48 hours.
Do I need to use SPF after microneedling?
Yes, absolutely. SPF is essential after microneedling, as your skin is temporarily more sensitive to UV radiation.
Is microneedling possible with active acne?
With active, inflamed acne, we usually do not needle over the inflamed areas. Then we prefer to start with treatments that bring rest, such as Dermalux, HydraFacial or a customized skin treatment.
