What exactly is in Water Relax?
Water Relax (and its big brother in an affordable Family Pack ) is a dietary supplement that contains five different forms of magnesium: magnesium malate , magnesium bisglycinate , magnesium citrate , magnesium taurate and magnesium -L-ascorbate .
The supplement is formulated orthomolecularly , which means that we always try to provide the right forms in the right amount and in the right combination.
By combining these 5 different forms, we strive for the optimal absorption and effect of the mineral.
And it's not just a haphazard mix.
For example, we consciously chose 5 organic magnesium forms, making the composition widely applicable.
The taurine and glycine magnesium forms are extremely desirable in the brain cells where magnesium contributes to normal psychological function .
According to scientific research, the malate and citrate forms are more focused on reducing fatigue and supporting muscle function .
Magnesium-L-ascorbate is the buffered form of vitamin C, the function of which is described in detail in the newsletter about Super C Boost.
In addition to magnesium, Water Relax also contains 300 mg potassium per daily dose.
Potassium has many functions that are similar to those of magnesium in a number of ways. Let us briefly review the functions of these minerals here.
1. Potassium
Potassium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure . The blood pressure regulating effect of potassium is achieved, among other things, by the dilation of the blood vessels .
Potassium is also one of the most important ions in the cell and it plays a significant role in transport across cell membranes via sodium-potassium pumps. While sodium (the main component of table salt) helps the body to retain fluid , potassium helps to re-optimize the balance in case of excess sodium in the cell.
Sodium and potassium work very closely together in this way.
2 . Magnesium
Magnesium is an essential nutrient that is involved as a cofactor in more than 300 enzymes in various body reactions. Magnesium is part of the ATP complex, which plays a role in energy-yielding metabolism .
50-60% of magnesium stores are localized in our bones, where it contributes to the maintenance of healthy bones .
Magnesium also plays a role in our electrolyte balance and such
Mentioned earlier, magnesium also contributes to normal psychological function and the reduction of fatigue .
That was quite a sandwich, wasn't it?
3. Potassium and Magnesium
Our muscles consist of fibers that slide in and out of each other. Relaxing these muscles does not just happen, this requires magnesium and potassium, among other things.
The link with the skin?
We know that proteins are the building blocks and foundations of our skin. We also know that magnesium plays a role in protein synthesis . This means: magnesium helps the body to combine different amino acids into useful proteins for, among other things, skin building.
Fact: If there is one protein that interests many, it is collagen . Collagen ensures the firmness of the skin. Collagen production decreases with age, which is one of the causes of wrinkle formation. To stimulate our own collagen production, in addition to amino acids, we also need magnesium as a cofactor in the synthesis of the protein collagen. So do you want to work on anti-aging or skin improvement? Then the WaterRelax a must to take together with our collagen powder MONKEY .
Which daily dose?
The standard dosage of Water Relax is 3 tablets per day.
The packaging recommends taking the tablets 30 minutes after a meal so that sufficient stomach acid is produced to ensure optimal absorption.
That is in theory, in practice you can certainly take them with your Water Relax meal.
Personally, I forget to take them, and then the absorption is certainly not optimal ;)
You can take the 3 tablets at once or spread them throughout the day.
PS: If you take Daily Boost in the morning, choose 2 tablets of Water Relax per day as Daily Boost also contains magnesium.
